Best Mom Ever

Today's challenge was to use lot's of layers.  I think I pulled that of with this layout of Tammy with her oldest son.  I used Photo Play's  Best Mom Ever papers for this layout. All embellishments are from the same paper line. I love that Photo Play includes such great embellishments with their paper packs.

New Layouts

Today I did some layouts for challenges at Creative Inspiration  The first one was  for a challenge to use lace on  your project. I used lace under the photo and lace in the flowers.  The papers are from Echo Park's Just be You paper line. The flowers are from Forever in Time. The floral tag is also from Forever in Time. The chippie is from Creative Embellishments.  I used a  My Favourite Things stencil to add a bit of dimension using some blended fibres from Liquitex.  I also did some faux stitching with a Sharpie.

The second challenge was to use a punch or two on a project. On this layout I used a Recollections punch to create the flowers, and an EK punch to create the edges on the vertical piece of paper.  The paper I used here was a brand I had never used or heard of before, Scrapbook Customs. I used the Navy Mustard line. I was rather impressed with the quality of this paper.  The lace is unknown. The pearl centers are Forever in Time.  The heart embellishments are PinkFresh.

I was rather pleased with the way these layouts turned out.

Happy News

Today I have some wonderful news to report.  I have been accepted to the DT at Creative Inspiration again.  I am pumped to be working with such an awesome group.   I was on the DT there once before and it was a wonderful experience.

I can't wait to start working with these people once again.

Also I am happy to announce that I have finished an album for my BFF.  It was her Parent's 60th anniversary and I was so happy to be the one who got to do it for her.  She was excited over the finished album.

So Neglectful!

Yes, here I am again, I have been so neglectful of my poor blog.  But then very few people ever read it so there is no big problem.

I am kept busy between Creative Inspiration and Scrap, Paper, Scissors.  Always great challenges to keep my going.  I just haven't been posting them here but I will start changing that.

The big news is that I am finally back to my job at Jimmy G's.  It is so good to be back, I have missed it so much.  It's great to see all my customers again and to catch up with all that has been happening.  A few of them has past away :(  Some of them have married, some have divorced.  Some have new kids.  So many changes!

Anyway, just wanted to get this blog moving again.
Have a wonderful day!

One great big Icy day!

We had freezing rain last night into this morning so it was certainly a stay at home day for me, I wasn't going anywhere so guess what I did, Yep, I stayed at home and scrapped. LOL

I did another challenge for Scrap, Paper, Scissors.  I used a Bev Code sketch for this one.  I mostly use one of her sketches but I forget to give her the credit, I must remember to do that from now on. It is not very courteous of me not to do so.

The challenge this time was to use the numbers 6, 3, 2, 1 on a layout, either to use the numbers themselves or to use the amounts of something on the layout.  I used 6 brads, 3 flowers, 2 leaves, and 1 chippie.

The photo is of my Oldest grandson and his fiancé, Deanna at her family's summer cottage just outside of Blind River. They had hiked to the top of Mount Baldy, across the lake from their cottage. They call it Mount Baldy because the top of the mountain is like a bald head.

I used Recollections Paper, Dusty Attic chippie, the brads are from the eyelet outlet, the flowers were a cut file from Silhouette, the cardstock is Bazzel.

Beautiful

My oldest grandson sent me this photo of him and his fiancĂ© last night and I had to scrap it right away.  Getting photos of my grand children is hard to do any more.
So I used Stephanie's Football Challenge from Scrap, Paper, Scissors. The challenge was to use Brown, Stitching and texture.
Here is how my answer to that challenge turned out.
I used papers from the DCWV, Linen Closet collection, all the embellishments are from the same collection. I also used the Sew Easy tool with the straight stitch attachment.  I also broke the tool while using it  as well as the the straight stitch attachment.. that is my favourite stitch to. :(

I guess it had to happen sooner or later since I use it so much.

January must of had Wings!

Oh my goodness gracious, January must of had wings the way  it went flying by.  I can't believe that we are into February all ready.  I know that sometimes I do wish the cold weather was over, but I try not to do that too often because I don't want to be wishing my life away.  Besides, we have not had a bad winter this year despite the horrible cold cold weather we had the past week.  That was dreadful and apparently something we haven't experienced since they started keeping records.

Anyway, with the new month brings new challenges and I am ready for them.  Well, maybe not quite.  I am very low on embellishments, I ordered a lot last week but it will take a while before I get them.  I hate having to go online to order things because for the most part I can't get what I need here in Canada and that means I end up having to pay exchange on my money plus shipping so I end up paying almost double for what I order.  That really bugs me as I would rather just paying the price period.  I asked around though and the ladies at Scrap Paper Scissors gave me names of a few Canadian online stores and I found one that carries the kind of things that I like so when I have the money to make another order, half of my money won't be eaten up with exchange.  YEAH!!!

Okay, so once again the gals at Scrap, Paper, Scissors have come up with some very interesting challenges for the month of February.  I don't know where their brains are when I read some of these challenges, all I can say is that they have some imaginations for sure!  So this month is all about football-----  I HATE Football!!  Good thing the challenges aren't to make football layouts, just things based on football LOL

The first one I choose to do was: Super Bowl Party Treats Challenge, it was to draw inspiration from the posted image and from the image I drew the colours Yellow, Green, and white. I also took the banner.
I attended my grand daughter's Orientation Day with her, and took this photo while we were waiting for things to start.

I used Mother of Pearl structure gel with a Prima mask for the background. I mixed a little yellow pigment with the gel to get the right colour.
Then I applied it to the mask where I wanted it to be on the cardstock.
This is what it looked like when it dried.
