My Dutchess

I am and always have been a cat lover.  I would have a houseful of cats if I could afford it.  We have had two cats now for about three years.  Oliver is my 5 year old, male, ginger tabby and a failed foster.  I fostered him for about 5 minutes before I decided that we had to keep him.  He was just too precious to let him go to someone else.  Precious is my 6 year old, female, grey tabby.  I rescued her from the streets.  Every time I went to visit my friend, she would come running down the street for me to pick her up and give her some loving.  Then one day in the freezing cold of November she came running and she was so cold, I wrapped her inside my coat for to warm her up.  I just couldn't stand to put her back down and let her get cold again so I just popped her in my car and brought her home with me.   She is very anti-social and stays far away from us all and won't let Oliver near her. That's okay with me, at least for the past 3 years she has been warm, has been well fed and well loved.

Now, last month I got Millie.  She was a 4 month old ginger and white beautiful little thing that I just had to have.  I hadn't planned on getting another cat but went into the pet store to get some fish food.  She was in the cage and I held her for a while to give her a bit of loving and she refused to go back into the cage.  She just wrapped her front legs around my neck, purred and refused to let go.  That broke me. LOL  She came home with me.  I have not been sorry.  I call her my little dutchess.  She is into everything.  She is also very vocal when she wants something, especially when she wants me out of bed.  Anyway, when I saw this sketch challenge from The Studio Challenges, I just had to scrap this photo of Millie, she was eyeing my fish.
